The Local Woman is a small-run, limited-edition, slow and sustainable fashion, with one design introduced at a time.
Toronto based designer, artist and stylist Sarah Gregg Millman's inaugural clothing collection LOCAL WOMAN established in 2020, takes inspiration from women’s rights movements, the wildflowers she picked along Nova Scotia’s beaches as a child, and her beautiful mother in the 1970’s.
Millman focuses much of her efforts on sourcing unique end-of-run, hard to find, and occasionally upcycled and deadstock fabrics. The line is a series of modern classics that transcend seasons and time.
Designed and sewn in Toronto, by all Toronto-based sewers paid a living wage.
